Bring Fun Hostess Gifts

Headed out the door for a party wishing you had something more exciting for your host than the same old bottle of wine? Not to worry. Given the variety available in today’s marketplace, you can be as creative as you want when selecting your next hostess gift.

Like wine, food items continue to be a popular choice for hostess gifts. Think cookies, cheese straws, Key Lime Pie mix, lemonade mix or iced tea mix for your next soiree.

For a long-lasting gift, consider a gift set of napkins with a condiment spreader. In fact, shoppers will find a plethora of napkins and spreaders in a myriad of themes. Whether it’s a summertime, football or Christmas party, there is a set to incorporate the party’s mood.

Other great ideas include gift baskets containing an assortment of coffees and teas, margarita and daiquiri mixes, or ice cream sundae fixings. If your host or hostess loves to cook, try putting together a selection of cooking utensils in a decorative crock.

If you’d rather have a non-food trinket, candles make a wonderful present. Mix and match votives with decorative votive holders or perhaps pillar candles with ornamental stands. Elegant tapers with lovely candlesticks also bode well as hostess gifts.

As you can see, finding a fun and memorable hostess gift for your next party knows no limits. Be careful, though; you may find yourself invited to more parties than you might think from those hoping to benefit from your creativity and thoughtfulness.

  2. I’m making a mental note of your idea for gift set of napkins with a condiment spreader. Will be keeping making a stockpile of these when the after-holiday sales start and keep a stash of sets for next year!

  3. These are all great ideas! Personally, if anyone brings me a box of chocolate, then that person is my new BFF :) Thanks for sharing!
