BB&T Atlanta Open Hits the Courts July 25

BBT Atlanta OpenThe Championships, Wimbledon just wrapped up, and I’m already turning my attention to the Emirates Airlines US Open Series that kicks off in the United States with the BB&T Atlanta Open on July 25. A long-time tennis fan (although, sadly, not a player), seeing some of the ATP’s (the men’s professional tennis tour) top players in my hometown is a dream come true. From Georgia favorite John Isner (a former Georgia Bulldog!) to the ever-popular Bryan Brothers (as a twin myself, I love watching these guys play! Their non-spoken communication is amazing!), the Atlanta tennis community will have their fill of quality tennis during the weeklong tournament.

Especially exciting for tennis fans, both Andy Roddick and Mardy Fish are making their return to the courts. Retired from professional tennis since 2012, Roddick will play an exhibition match with Frances Tiafoe as well as join Fish for doubles competition, while Fish will also compete in singles. Other top players set to appear include Kevin Anderson, Jack Sock, Marcos Baghdatis, Donald Young and Vasek Pospisil, among others.

BBT Atlanta OpenIn addition to great tennis, visitors also will enjoy the Family Zone, filled with great games and activities; a concert on Saturday night with the Commodores (free for select ticketholders, otherwise, tickets purchased separately); a concert on Wednesday night with LoCash (free to Wednesday ticket holders); and a Friday night fireworks show.

Taking place at Atlantic Station, BB&T Atlanta Open tickets to the BB&T Atlanta Open are on sale now. Whether you are a diehard tennis fan like me or just enjoy a good sports competition, the BB&T Atlanta Open is sure to deliver both great tennis and great entertainment for fans of all ages. Don’t miss your chance to attend this year’s event!

  1. I love Mardy Fish because he’s from my hometown, but Roger Federer is my real favorite. Classy on the court and so much more off the court. Wish we could get him to Atlanta!

I love Mardy, too, and it will be great to see him on court again. And, yes, Roger is definitely a class act!
